Shoebill Campervan terms and conditions

Minimum Age

The renter must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid driver’s license. It is possible for 21 to 25 years old drivers to rent with the option “young driver”.

Devise

All prices stated in this agreement are in Canadian dollars (CAD), applicable taxes not included unless otherwise specified.

Security Deposit

A security deposit of $2,000 CAD is required to confirm the rental. This deposit must be paid no later than 14 days prior to the vehicle pickup date, by credit card or bank transfer. For bookings made through a third-party platform (such as Outdoorsy or RVezy), the deposit is reduced to $500 CAD and must be paid by credit card only.

Insurance

The renter must provide proof of insurance including the FAQ27 endorsement or purchase additional insurance offered by Shoebill Campervan.

Cancellation Policy

More than 14 days before departure: 75% refund.
Between 7 and 14 days: 50% refund.
Less than 3 days: no refund.
Between 7 and 14 days: 50% refund.
Less than 3 days: no refund.
Less than 3 days: no refund.

Festivals

Vehicles are allowed at festivals, provided safe driving practices and cleaning rules are followed.

Pets

Pets are allowed onboard. Cleaning fees may apply in case of damage or persistent odors.

Authorized Territories

Driving is permitted only in Canada and the United States on paved roads. Off-road driving is prohibited.

Mileage

Each rental includes 200 km per day. Additional mileage is charged at $0.41/km. Extra mileage packages or unlimited mileage can be purchased.

Delivery

No delivery service is offered. Pickup is at the location designated by Shoebill Campervan.

Oil change

Whenever possible, oil changes are performed between rentals. However, if your trip exceeds the mileage interval between services, you may need to stop at a garage along your route to have the oil changed during your rental.

GPS tracking

The vehicle is equipped with a GPS tracking device. This system allows the owner to locate the vehicle in case of theft, major incidents, or breach of the rental agreement. The device is used solely for safety and asset protection purposes.

    • Use the vehicle responsibly and drive safely.
    • Do not allow unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle.
    • Obey traffic laws and cover any incurred fines or tolls.
    • Ensure proper refilling of gas tanks before return.
    • Clean the vehicle before returning or pay applicable cleaning fees.
    • Cover towing or repair costs due to misuse.
    • Immediately report any incidents, damage, or accidents.
    • The renter must purchase and cover the cost of all items necessary for their trip, including but not limited to: food, fuel, additional cleaning supplies, windshield washer fluid, etc.

Owner’s Responsibilities

  • Provide a clean, safe, and mechanically sound vehicle.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and meets manufacturer standards.
  • Supply required documents (insurance, registration, user manual).
  • Perform full inspection with renter before departure and upon return.
  • Be available to assist during the rental period.
  • Return the security deposit promptly if no issues are found.
